The Mother of all Bars made from the Mother of all Grains: QUINOA!


I am in love with these new KINWA bars from Eat to Life! I’ve sampled all three and they’re all amazing, but my personal favourite is the dark chocolate orange; give me anything with dark chocolate and I am sold! As many people do, I often need a snack at around 2 pm to re-energize and power me through the rest of the day; these high-fibre plant based bars do just that.



KINWA bars are the perfect combination of crunchy and chewy. The crunchiness is attributed to quinoa, as well as pumpkin, sunflower and chia seeds. Each bar also contains dried fruit (hello fibre!) which gives it that delicious chewy gooey texture AND it’s natural sweetness. Each 42 gram bar boasts 10% of protein that is completely plant based. And finally; chicory root fibre is an absolutely amazing addition to this bar’s list of ingredients as it is a powerful pre-biotic. Probiotics (healthy gut bacteria) need sufficient pre-biotics in order to do their job and keep your insides happy :)



You may be seeing quinoa being used in a lot of healthy food products lately; trust it is not just a fad. The wide spread use of quinoa is well-warranted and that is because it is a complete protein, it’s gluten free, it’s non-gmo, it’s high in fibre, it’s nutrient rich, it’s high in antioxidants, and it has a low glycemic index. PLUS it’s literally sacred, dubbed “Mother of the Grains" by the Incas thousands of years ago. So you see, you cannot go wrong with this delicious snack!
