Rise with Resilience Online Membership FAQs

1. Why body neutral and not body positive?

We believe that body neutrality is much more realistic than body positivity. It’s okay to sometimes not love our bodies, and sometimes body positivity can make you feel sad, or like a failure, when you’re having a bad body image day. With body neutrality there is no pressure to feel any specific way about your body. We also believe that body image resilience is much more attainable when we don’t focus so much on how we look. That is why we never mention how we look in our classes. Body image is a non-issue here. We are body neutral and proud!

2. What classes do you offer

Zumba - Latin dance fitness classes that are fun, energetic, and make you feel amazing! In this class, we’ll cycle through various songs and intensities. Do you like Salsa? Reggaeton? Merengue? Cumbia? Bachata? Flamenco? Well, you’re in luck! We dance to all those rhythms and more!

Happy HIIT - HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training. Don't run away yet! This full-body workout is still fun! We'll move to the beat of the music while challenging our fitness! Instead of a timer (boring!), we use the music to decide how long each move is, making the workout go by a lot more quickly and more enjoyable than your typical HIIT class. Dumbbells and a mat are required.

Blissful Barre - Inspired by ballet, this fun-filled class is a true full-body workout. The focus is on high reps and small-range movements. You will develop your strength and flexibility, just like a professional ballerina! (a chair, a mat, and light dumbbells are required)

Yummy Yogalates - A full body workout fusing yoga and pilates that will leave you feeling aligned and in control (a yoga mat, light dumbbells, and a looped booty band are required for this class)

3. When are new classes uploaded
The new classes are uploaded the first Monday of every month at midnight EST. Every month you will have continued access to the previous month's classes, so you can choose to either keep doing the classes from the month before, or do the new releases, or both!

4. Can I do the classes while pregnant?
If you are pregnant you should check with your doctor before doing any type of exercise. Everyone’s pregnancy is different and everyone’s body is different, so when talking to your doctor explain the types of classes that we offer so they can advise you on whether or not it is safe for you to do. If your doctor DOES approve these classes for you, make sure you are never lying on your stomach (yogalates!) and when lying on your back you keep your head elevated by a pillow or something similar (especially in the last 3 months or so of your pregnancy).

5. Do I need equipement?
For Zumba you do not need any equipment. Happy HIIT requires a mat and a pair of dumbbells. Blissful Barre requires a chair, a mat, and a light pair of dumbbells. Yummy Yogalates requires a mat, a light pair of dumbbells, and a looped booty band. All of these items are easy to find at Walmart, Canadian Tire, Winners, Target, Amazon, etc. Reach out to us for help if you need it!

6. How does the subscription work?
Once your 7-day free trial ends, you will have the option to sign up for the membership. Once you sign up, you will
be automatically charged 40$ CAD every month until you cancel.

7. Can I try the classes for free first?
Yes! Each monthly subscription begins with a 7-day free trial! No credit card info required!

8. How can I access the classes and the other content?
Once you have signed up you will gain access to the member’s area of the website. This is where all the content lives! You will see your monthly theme, links to classes and tutorials, and a link to book a strategy call. Have fun exploring!

9. How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancelling your subscription is easy. You just need to go to your profile section under the subscriptions tab and cancel it there. If you have any issues, you can always reach out to us.

10. If I don’t live in Canada, can I still Rise with Resilience?
Absolutely! Anyone all over the world can participate in our classes. Please note, however, that prices are in CAD.

11. What if I find the classes too hard?
Starting a new workout regimen is an adjustment and can be a challenge! That is why we created a tutorial section, breaking down some of the basic moves in our classes. If you have never exercised before, we recommend starting with just one class per week, and then gradually (and while listening to your body) building up to 2, 3, then 4 classes per week. Be patient with yourself, and remember that we all gotta start somewhere!

12 How long are the classes?
All classes are 45 minutes long

13. How many times a week should I be doing the classes?
There are 4 types of classes. You don’t have to do all 4 classes per week, but we definitely recommend doing no more than 4 classes per week. You need rest days in order to recover! If you are new to fitness, or you just feel like taking it easy one week, do one class! Then you can slowly build your way up to 2, 3, or 4 classes per week.
