Something truly magical happens when a group of women come together! I wholeheartedly believe this, and have witnessed it time and time again for myself.
Believe it or not, I actually hated gym class when I was in elementary school. I was the girl who showed up to school with heels, a blazer, a full face of makeup, and a blowout. Yes - in elementary school... Oh how times have changed haha!! And I hated gym class because I didn't want to risk making a fool of myself! I didn’t want to look silly in front of my peers. I also had the idea that I was not good at sports.
Cut to high school, and I was enrolled in an all girls school. Suddenly, without the boys around, and having all been forced to wear the same outfit, I no-longer hated gym class. I actually excelled at it! I was picked first for teams which had never happened before! I truly believe this was because of the magic that occurs when being around other women. And having to wear uniforms put us all on an even playing field where we could just enjoy fitness, move our bodies, and get healthier, without judging ourselves, and without judging each other.
I am 30 now, and have dedicated the last decade of my life to showing people how fun fitness can be! And this summer in Montreal will be no different! On Sunday, June 30th I invite you to join me for an empowering afternoon of speakers, fitness, and connection. You will hear from a diverse roster of women in the fitness and wellness industry, each with their own unique and inspiring perspectives to help you RISE WITH RESILIENCE every day. 💪
